Scene Around The Rink

Waterbury Area Food Shelf and The Ice Center have teamed up to bring you Free Public Skating. The first Saturday of each month The Ice Center will offer free public skating to community members who bring in a non-perishable food item for the Food Shelf. This is our way of saying Thanks! for being part of a great community and supporting us for the past six years. At the same time let's show our support to those in need.

Freestyle Ice: We had added more Freestyle Ice time for all those Figure Skaters in the area! Check out the Freestyle page for more details.

Hockey Clinics Are you an adult looking to learn to play hockey? Have you played a little bit before but need coaching to get you the confidence you need to join a league? Let Coach Ian Smith take you through a 6-week novice instructional clinic to get you the skills you are looking for

Birthday Parties When you think about it, throwing a birthday party at your house is a whole lot of work. Cleaning before the kids take over the house and having to clean up after them is just not what its cracked up to be! Let us do it for you! We have the perfect birthday party package for you, just look and see.

Learn To Skate We have new Learn To Skate (LTS) programs in place now for youth ages 3 and up as well as adults. See what coaches Trina and Melody can offer you so that you can enjoy skating for the rest of your life!

STICKERS The new hot item of the summer is here! Yes, you can now own a very cool Ice Center sticker! Slap it on your car, your helmet, your locker - wherever you see fit. Very cool and very reasonable. Ask at the office for yours next time you are here

Rink Rules are in place for your safety and for the sake of the community! Please take a minute to get familiar with these rules so we can keep The Ice Center a place where you want to come back to!

  • No street hockey allowed inside the rink
  • Please do not get on the ice until the Zamboni gates are closed
  • Parents / coaches / players: please check the locker rooms and pick up after the team prior to leaving the rink
  • No spitting on the benches or in the locker rooms; it is REALLY GROSS!
  • Please check in at the office prior to Public Skating, Stick & Puck Time and Freestyle Ice. You have to pay to play!
  • Please use assigned locker rooms; there is a method to our madness
  • Please get off the ice on time, chances are there is a  group on after you
  • Skate hard & have fun! That's what its all about, right?
