Welcome to THE ICE CENTER!

Our non-profit, community-based arena is home to Harwood High School and Youth Hockey teams, talented local figure skaters and a number of adult hockey leagues. In addition, public skating is a great way to bring the community together, stick and puck time is a fun way to stay active and renting the ice for a party is a fantastic way to enjoy healthy recreation. This dream came true with support from the community and area businesses and for that we say... THANK YOU!

About Us

The Ice Center is a great example of how dreams can come true. After many years and a lot of hard work, The Ice Center, a state of the art ice arena, is now the heart of Waterbury and surrounding towns, bringing together these rural communities in the Green Mountains.

The Ice Center opened its doors in December 2003 and since then it has become home to many different skating groups. Located in the Green Mountains, Waterbury is a perfect central location and considered the “Recreational Crossroads of Vermont”. The Ice Center is easily accessible from I-89 and offers many fine eating and lodging establishments in the area.

Our Mission

The Ice Center will provide a safe and caring environment that will bring people of all ages together to share in quality skating. It will strengthen our community by offering constructive recreational choices in a supervised atmosphere fostering self-esteem, character and strong work ethic in our youth. The ice center is a place where young and old can build strong relationships, lasting memories and community pride.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors has played a large part in the creation and evolution of The Ice Center. These dedicated hard working volunteers have worked tirelessly to foster the environment here in which our young (and old) skaters thrive.

In January of 2011 our community and The Ice Center lost a dear friend in Steve Woodard. After a brief but courageous battle with cancer Steve passed away leaving us all with fantastic memories of a man dedicated to his work, family and interests. The Ice Center and ice hockey were a large part of Steve’s life and we will forever be grateful for what he did with and for us. Steve was an active member of the Board of Directors, serving as Vice President for the last few years.
